Miller and Carter gluten free sauces are easy to navigate, because the official gluten free menu marks five steak sauces as GF: beef dripping, bearnaise, rich red wine, three peppercorn and cafe de Paris butter sauce. The marks below are reproduced from the official menu. Always confirm with your server before ordering, as the official menu notes that cross contamination can occur.

The five Miller and Carter gluten free sauces

These are the steak sauces marked GF on the official gluten free menu, with the calorie figures shown beside them. An asterisk means the sauce contains alcohol, according to the official menu legend.

Wedge dressings marked GF

The gluten free menu also marks four wedge dressings as GF, for diners choosing the wedge salad instead of fries. They are bacon and honey mustard, Long Clawson Stilton and blue cheese (V), garlic mayonnaise and Grana Padano, and classic vinaigrette (VE). Two butters are marked GF as well: parsley butter (V) and the signature butter. As with the sauces, these marks are reproduced from the official menu and are not a safety guarantee. For the full sauces range beyond the GF menu, see our sauces menu and prices guide.

A note on chimichurri

Chimichurri was marked GF on the official gluten free festive 2025 menu, but we did not find a GF mark for it on the standard gluten free menu. Treat it as seasonal or branch dependent and ask your server. The gluten free menu guide explains how the wider GF menu works, and our gluten free sides guide covers what to pair with your steak.

Ordering tips for gluten free diners

Mention your dietary needs when you book and again when you order. The official menu invites guests to raise any allergy or intolerance before ordering, and the team can walk you through the current gluten free options at your branch. It is also worth checking the brand’s online allergen guide, which lets you filter dishes by any of the 14 major allergens, or asking staff to show it to you on the day. Menus and marks can differ between restaurants, so the version at your table is the one that counts.
