Yes, there is a Miller and Carter NHS discount. The official Miller & Carter FAQ sets out the terms: NHS staff receive 10% off the food bill when they show an in date NHS Trust ID card. It applies to tables of up to 4 people, as long as every guest orders a main meal, and it runs 7 days a week during opening hours. There are excluded dates and a few conditions, so read the terms before you visit.
How the Miller and Carter NHS Discount Works
The discount is straightforward. Present your in date NHS Trust ID card to your server and 10% comes off the food bill. The official terms describe it this way:
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Discount | 10% off the food bill |
| Who is covered | Up to 4 people, when each guest buys a main meal |
| Proof needed | An in date NHS Trust ID card, shown before ordering |
| Menu | A La Carte Menu only |
| When | 7 days a week during opening hours, except excluded dates |
| Combining offers | Cannot be used with other promotions, vouchers or set menus |
| Loyalty points | You can still collect Masters of Steak Club reward points |
Last checked: 13 October 2026. Terms are published on the official Miller & Carter FAQ and can be amended or withdrawn, so confirm with your branch before visiting.
Who Can Use the Miller and Carter NHS Discount
The official terms name NHS staff with an in date NHS Trust ID card. That means the discount is tied to the Trust ID, not to a Blue Light Card or another staff discount scheme. Some third party voucher sites state that Blue Light Card holders are not included, and the official wording does not mention the Blue Light Card either, so do not assume it will be accepted. If you are not sure, phone the restaurant before you book.
Each of the up to 4 guests on the bill must order a main meal for the discount to apply. It is a food bill discount, so drinks ordered on their own are not the point of the offer. Mention the discount when you are seated so the server can confirm it before you order; the official terms advise checking that the offer is available before ordering.
Dates When the Discount Does Not Apply
The discount is not valid on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. The official terms also exclude 13 February 2026, 15 February 2026, 13 March 2026, 14 March 2026, 19 April 2026 and 20 April 2026. These are the dates published on the official FAQ, and the list can change, so it is worth a quick check close to your visit.
What the Discount Cannot Be Combined With
The NHS discount cannot be used with other promotions, vouchers or discount offers, including all set menus. That means it does not apply to the fixed price lunch or other set menu deals; it is an A La Carte Menu offer. The official steak and cocktail offer terms name the NHS discount among the offers it cannot be combined with, which confirms this is the brand’s standard rule.
One exception is noted in the official terms: another voucher that gives you something complimentary, such as a complimentary drink or dish, may be used alongside it. And you can still collect Masters of Steak Club reward points on the bill, so join the club if you have not already. Current promotions are tracked on our Miller and Carter offers page, and voucher codes are covered in our Miller and Carter vouchers guide.
If You Do Not Have an NHS Trust ID
Not an NHS worker? There are still ways to cut the bill. Our offers page rounds up the current promotions, and our vouchers guide explains how discount codes work. The Masters of Steak Club app is worth downloading for points and rewards, and a birthday discount may apply around your own celebration.
